Welcome to the Town of Chelmsford's online Town Maps System. This system provides
7-day a week, 24-hour a day access to the Town's maps and records maintained at
the Assessors, Engineering, and Community Development offices. The Town of Chelmsford
provides this site to you as an interactive tool to make customized maps, find property
information, and explore the town's GIS data layers. To begin using the site, please
use the search fields above to type in the owners name, address, street or parcel-id
of the property of interest.

to type in as much information as you know about the property, such as house number,
street name (with prefix spelled out and no suffix), map & lot or owner name to
obtain a list of match records. For example, typing "S" in the Owner Last Name Field
will produce a list of all property owners with a last name starting with "S".
Data Sources
Color Orthophotography: Flown in 2004. Resolution: 1” = 40’.
Assessing Data: FY2007 property assessments provided by Town of Chelmsford Assessing
Department, November 2007.
Parcel Boundaries: Automated in 1999 by Full & O’Neill with updates by Howe Engineering
until 2002. Quality assurance by Applied Geographics, in 2003. Subsequent maintenance
performed by AppGeo and Town of Chelmsford. Current to FY06.
Road Names: Derived from 2003 1:5000 MassGIS road centerline attributes.
Open Space parcel layers, including Cemetery Land, Chapter 61 Land, ConCom Land,
Conservation Trust Land, Municipal Land, Parks & Playgrounds, and School Department
Land were created by Town of Chelmsford based on FY2005 parcels.
The following planimetric features were derived from the 2004 orthophoto base: parking,
driveways, contours, buildings, docks, sidewalks, railroads, trails, fences, walls,
and water.
Certified Vernal Pools: MassGIS 2006.
Commonwealth Open Space: MassGIS 2006.
Wetlands: Digitized from paper maps in 2004 by Applied Geographics. 100-ft radius
buffers were created by Town of Chelmsford.
Zoning: Converted from CAD to GIS in 2004 by Applied Geographics.
